You are invited to be a part of our life together. This is a sincere invitation to belong! New Community Church offers an open invitation to all people. We believe the love of God, as we have come to experience that love, is for everyone. It is hard to believe because we all grow up with experiences of rejection and love with conditions. We don’t do it well all the time, but we do intend to build relationships based on what we experience in the love and grace of God. We desire to cooperate with God’s love as we follow Jesus and share in the work of healing and restoring our lives and our world.
We can love one another because God loves us.

Angel Food Ministries

With a heart to help others and a generous spirit, Joe and Linda Wingo founded Angel Food Ministries in 1994 to provide food for friends and neighbors who were struggling financially. Today the Angel Food program now is helping provide food relief to more than 500,000 families each month. This program is available to everyone, regardless of income level.

Our church is a host site for Angel Food Ministries. Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States.

Summer Bible Study of the Psalms Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am

Announcing a summer study of the Psalms on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am. This class will be taught by Dr. Frank Green.

There are profound reasons to study the Psalms:

Those of us interested in pyschology are especially attracted to the Psalms because the full range of the human experience, emotions, feelings, relationships, etc. are expressed there. Thus, down through history people have identified with the authors of the Psalms, finding tremendous hope and healing. The Psalms have a way of finding us where we live.
The Psalms are the most quoted Old Testament source in the New Testament. If you were going to rank the most important Old Testament source for New Testament thinking and theology, the Psalms would have to be at the top of the list.

We want to encourage you to come along and get involved as we join our stories together as individuals and as a fellowship of faith with those who lived and hoped so long ago. Their thoughts and feelings are as contemporary to us as the morning newspaper.

We will end the day with a homemade ice cream contest. If you’ve got a special recipe you make, see RL Stuckey and get your name on the list.

Angel Food Ministries is a way to help your family or someone in need in this hard economic time. If you eat, you qualify. It’s a ministry that just makes sense. It is not a hand out, but a hand up to help you get back on your feet or just to help you save money on food. You can place an order in the lobby before or after church or online.

CHURCH FUNDRAISER: Cook’s Night Off / Live Music – September 17

Give the Cook time off and have some fun! Come by New Community Church Friday, September 17 for Pork BBQ, with a choice of two sides: BBQ potatoes, slaw or baked beans, bread and dessert for $9.00 per plate. You can also purchase a Family Pack for $35 which includes 2 lbs. BBQ, 2 pint sides, 8 sandwich buns and dessert for 6. Additional BBQ may be purchased for $8.00 per pound or $15 per 2 lbs. Additional pints of sides are $3.00 per side. Enjoy live music while you eat and visit. Stop by the church from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for take-out orders and from 5:00 to 8:00 pm for dine-in or take-out.

Kid’s Zone – September 17

Every third Friday of the month along with Cook’s Night Off, come and have fun after you eat. Crafts, music, games and more will be provided from 6-8 pm in the ABC rooms. Kids under the age of 3, must have a parent with them. The next date is September 17.
